Pitching Protection Screens

Most setups use either an L-screen or a full-coverage pitching screen, depending on the drill.

• L-screen: Features a cutout that lets a coach or player toss from behind the net. It’s ideal for coach pitch, front toss, or live batting practice. The thrower stays protected while still delivering accurate pitches.
• Full pitching protection screen: The rectangular shape offers solid coverage in front of a pitching machine. This type of pitching machine screen protects the feeder’s body and hands from hard-hit balls. It’s a smart choice for team hitting stations or solo reps.
• Softball pitching screen: A mid-height cutout fits the underhand release better. A baseball pitching screen typically protects higher up.

If you move your screen often, choose one with wheels or a foldable design. Replacement nets are helpful for long-term use.

Before you buy, measure your cage or hitting area. The screen should fit without crowding the hitter or blocking vision.

Keep your pitching protection screen out of the sun when not in use. Store it dry, and check the netting for damage regularly. Replace worn nets before they become unsafe.
